September Feature Bhoranie Seide

How do you live a life maintaining the faith that you have, in an industry that so many people compromise their own beliefs in? These are questions that many people have who see Christians working in a field that may come off as secular or demonic some might say.

This is why Bhoranie Seide caught my eye here at Style-Ography. I’ve had the pleasure of actually knowing Bhoranie and I am able to call her my friend and sister in Christ. Being able to see her flourish into the women she is today is so awesome and I believe she’s a great example of someone walking in purpose. Let’s take a closer look at her story and how she discovered her purpose in life.

Style-Ography: Tell us about your history and purpose in life. What do you do?

Bhoranie: Well, I was born in Boston but raised in Orlando Florida. I attended college in Florida where I received an AS (associates) Business Degree. I always knew I wanted to run my own business, so I pursued a Business Degree instead of fashion. From there, I moved to New York where I now reside and own my own company Unveiling Style. Not only do I have a styling company, I am a style blogger and a new book author as well. My book is titled “Unveiling Your Style: Becoming A New You Through Fashion, Style & Grace”.

Style-Ography: Wow, that is so awesome, Congratulations! For our viewer’s, can you briefly describe your journey to getting connected to your life’s purpose.

Bhoranie: I started my journey off by interning with a stylist in Florida, I wanted a chance to get my feet wet in the industry. It was such a learning process for me because I got to see the ins and outs of wardrobe styling. It also afforded me the opportunities to work with high profile names which was a lot of fun, but hectic too! I eventually moved to New York in 2011 and hit the ground running! It took a lot of tears and so many trials, but I eventually got the hang of things. While pursuing my purpose, I didn’t really have a big aha moment for the things I wanted to accomplish. I already felt that I was pursuing those things and I always felt God’s presence in my life and career, for me it was more of how can I glorify God more in what I was doing.

Once I began to focus on that question, God led me to writing a book that focused more on being a Christian woman and still being modest and stylish. There are a lot of woman who are not sure about modesty, fashion or style trends so I knew it was something I needed to write a book on. My main thing on my journey is to continue to pursue God and from pursuing him he has placed and will continue to place desires in me to do his will whether it’s in business, or fashion. In the end it will bring him all the glory.

Style-Ography: We actually read your book and it was such great advice that all women no matter their size or age can learn from. How do you live a life maintaining the faith that you have, in an industry that so many people compromise their own beliefs in?

Bhoranie: At times it is so hard to focus and stay sane in the business of fashion when there are so many people who choose to be heartless and seek for their own and not for the value of others. I have to keep focusing on God and remember to not do things selfishly and work to do things for others. I’d say for those who struggle with compromising their beliefs, remember who you are in Christ. Your identity is in him and ask him to help strengthen you in areas where you are struggling. If you honor God and live by his commands he’ll honor you as well.

Style-Ography: What advice would you give to a group of young teen girls who’s pursuing a dream or their purpose?

Bhoranie: I believe that as you pursue God and desire to honor him in your life, he’ll put the desires in your heart to do what you’ve been called to do. Work hard, have integrity, connect with people who have succeeded in the field you want to get into and write down specific goals!

Style-Ography: Is there anything that you would like to share with us and for us to share with our audience?

Bhoranie: I am currently working on my blog and hope to share beauty, fashion and style tips for all women. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.
